We live in a small development of freehold houses built 21 years ago. We are one of the original occupants. When the plots were sold, there were restrictive covenants put into each plot’s deeds to prevent future occupants doing something to spoil their neighbour’s enjoyment of their property. One of the covenants restricted the erection of fences to be on the boundaries of the plot only, and it states that these must be “reasonable” fences. The plots were fenced when they were sold with the fencing at 1.2m in height, which was deemed reasonable.
