As helpful as your standard pressure washer undoubtedly is around the jobsite, it’s also pretty cumbersome to transport around. The DWPW2100 DeWalt 2100 Max PSI Electric Pressure Washer aims to bring about a little relief from all this transportation and storage “pressure” with a lightweight, rectangular design that takes up less space.

Despite its smaller stature, this compact electric pressure washer puts out some solid power. The 13-amp universal motor and axial cam pump produce 2100 PSI of dirt-knocking force at a conservative flow rate of 1.2 GPM. During our testing, it easily removed stubborn dirt and algae from PVC privacy fencing as well as vinyl siding without any added chemicals.

With multiple grab points on the external cage, it’s incredibly easy to load and unload into a truck or van. It also offers added protection from objects that might fall onto it and features two 4-inch integrated wheels and a retractable handle for even better mobility.

The DeWalt DWPW2100 packs that performance into a compact package. Measuring 22.5 x 15.13 x 10.5 (L x W x H) inches and weighing just under 28 pounds fully loaded, its overall shape and dimensions remind me of a mid-sized carry-on rolling suitcase. With the telescoping handle extended, it stands 39 inches tall and is very easy to roll and maneuver. It’s worth noting the tires aren’t all-terrain style and do best on hard surfaces.

DeWalt made it pretty easy to keep the hose and power cord tangle-free when the pressure washer isn’t in use. The 35-foot cord wraps neatly around two large plastic cleats in a recessed area on the underside while the coiled hose fits securely under the top handle.

Most pressure washers come with either an axial or triplex pump. Axial pumps are simpler, but triplex pumps tend to be more efficient and last longer. You’ll find triplex on most commercial level pressure washers because of that. Pros that use their pressure washer frequently will want to take note of the axial pump when considering this model. If you’re only going to use your pressure washer on a more occasional basis, the axial pump isn’t a concern.

Most pressure washers have some kind of onboard accessory storage but DeWalt’s is truly unique. The wand breaks down into three pieces that stow away in an internal compartment on the end of the pressure washer.

Another unique design concept is the nozzles store right on the handle. It only has room for three, and four come with the set, so one has to stay in the inner compartment or on the wand.

Because there isn’t any external wand storage on this model like you see on most pressure washers, you need to fully break down the pressure washer when the job is complete.

Like many electric pressure washers, the DeWalt 2100 PSI electric pressure washer has an onboard detergent tank. But unlike the others, the DWPW2100’s tank is removable so it’s much easier to pour leftover soap back into the bottle when the job is done.

The nice thing is that it feeds detergent standing upright or flat on the ground.

The DeWalt 2100 PSI electric pressure washer retails for $249 at The Home Depot and comes with a 3-year warranty, 1-year free service agreement, and 90-day money-back guarantee. It’s a little higher than other 2100 PSI/1.2 GPM models, but none of them have this level of storage convenience.

Overall we’re pleased with the performance of the DeWalt 2100 PSI electric pressure washer. The compact, lightweight footprint of this machine makes storing it in small residential garages or loaded work trailers a sinch. Its power level is suitable for light-duty work but you might want to consider a model with higher PSI and GPM ratings for more demanding jobs. Regardless, we won’t be surprised if others take inspiration from DeWalt’s creative design.
